MLB Power Pros Reviews

Much more than just an exhibition baseball game. Great variety.
At this price, none.

This is a packed title at a budget price. The graphics are nothing amazing, but beyond that the mechanics of the game play are surprisingly impressive. Pitchers have their signature pitches available with precision control. Batters also are easy to direct. The game allows for three levels of play depending on skill level and how much you want to get in the game. Complete with announcer commentary and the names of your favorite MLB players and little dudes that resemble them in a "bobble head" sort of way. There is a lot of depth to this game if that interests you, but as for me the basic game play delivered nicely.

little cute characters
gets old

Its great for MLB baseball fans. Especially the cutesy characters. You can build your own people. It is like a baseball simulation game. Just buy the game if you like baseball and simulation.

in-depth play modes and player creation features
poor utilizing of wii motes

This cutesy version baseball game nails the physical interplay between a bat and a ball better than every other baseball sim out there. How far you reach out, whether you swing a little high or low, and whether your swing is early or late--that's all factored into the ball's resulting trajectory. Say a pitch is thrown to a different location than you were expecting. You can easily move the cursor and make contact, but the hit probably won't be as solid because you're more likely to make contact with the edge of the bat and not the juicy part of the bat.

Easy learning curve and controls.
Success Mode is very long and tedious. It brings an RPG style to a sports title. Not my cup of tea...RPG's that is.

MLB Power Pros for the Wii is a very fun and entertaining game. The game contains a lot of depth, from Success mode, to franchise, season, practice modes, and so on. The only complaint I have about this game is the Success Mode. This mode is RPG-esque. You create a player who starts off at the bottom barrel of a college team. You "play" 4 seasons to get to the pros. By "play" I mean you choose options on what to do next, whether it is getting a job or going on dates with your girlfriend. This mode is very boring and tedious. If you complete the mode successfully, you can play the season mode with your created player, which is a plus. Overall, I really like this game. One can spend hours playing this by themselves or with friends. 4/5 stars.

Great game for younger players
None

My 5 year old son wanted this game so much after playing it at his aunt's house. All I heard for two months was about this game. He received it on his birthday and hasn't stop playing since. This is a great game for younger Wii sports game fans. We also have the Major League Baseball 2K8 game, which seems to be to difficult for him.
